Online Website Portfolio

Overview

It’s true, I consider this online website (“My Portfolio”) you are viewing to be part of this “showcase.” For this time around, it’s actually beyond what I was expecting in a revamp. I’m very pleased.

Why?

Well, it goes deeper than me just providing you visual information about me, my experience, and samples of my work.

The roots of this portfolio started while I was finishing graduate school.

  • A time when Flash was still standard.
  • HTML5 was just vamping up.
  • WordPress existed, but it wasn’t as awesome as it is today.
  • Pages were not as interactive compared to current experiences.

Thinking Outside The Box

I took time and thought outside the box - considering "How can I present myself and work in a digital format that would be enticing the the end user as well as recruitment personnel?" The idea of an online portfolio came to mind.

How Did It Work Out?

By the end of my graduate school journey, my portfolio (version 1) was up an running using a HTML template from OS Templates. It was an exciting milestone for me because not only did I have a portfolio to market – I taught myself HTML.

What Did It Look Like?

Well, it was certainly not as “pretty” as this site – Heed that warning. It’s also not very engaging with very few embeds. Though for the time – the template was modern and top notch and the style was considered text-appropriate by my initial standards. My standards have vastly changed since that time – for the better.

What Do I Think?

My old portfolio served me well as a Version 1, but this portfolio re-design/upgrade is so much better!
